While I was orchid hunting in this area, my partner and I saw a white car on the side of the road and I said, "bet that's another nature hunter!" Now I'm thinking it may have been you!

This species of plants, recognised as having both: Indigenous Au forms and introduced forms from overseas here in Au .

And certainly occurring in this continent and extensively used by first people in this continent, along with related Portulaca spp. in Au,
for a very long time .

Thank you for the ID. Confusing as an edible weed for humans but toxic to dogs. Some debate as to being Australian or imported nuisance. It does appear to be prolific spreading along the edge of the roadway. Will try to restrain growth but they do seem to be good at spreading. Our Landcare Group has a planted site close by and we are considering starting to plant native edibles but maybe not this one.
